Announcing Our Refer A Vet Winner of 2021: Bill Moore

Last year’s winner of our Refer A Veteran Initiative was Fire Control Technician Chief Petty Officer (Submarines) (FTC/SS) Bill Moore, a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer with 25 years of service under his belt. He has served on four different submarines in the US and countries all around the world, including Japan, Korea, Venezuela, France, Spain, Greece, and Italy. Even though FTC/SS Moore is retired now, he currently serves his country as a DOD Contractor testing and evaluating the latest Submarine Fire Control Systems.

We had some incredible submissions this year, and it was a challenge to choose only one winner. However, we all concluded that FTC/SS Moore deserved our help, and we enjoyed working with him!

We will always offer a 10% service discount for veterans to honor their service. We are also happy to announce that we are now accepting submissions for this year’s Refer A Vet Initiative!

The winner will be announced on Veterans Day, November 11, 2022, and like last year they will receive a free tree work project of up to $2,500 in value.

From the initial estimate with Mac all the way until the last tree hit the ground, these guys were fantastic. It’s amazing to see a crew work with such cohesion. They clearly take pride in their work and the crew led by Forman Ben showed up early and stayed until the job was done. We had 7 large trees over and around our house removed. The tactful approach between John 80’ up in the lift, Ben operating the crane, and the rest of the crew was exceptional. They exemplify what a team is and how it should work. They have all the best equipment and work with incredible cohesion. More importantly, these men showed up with a great attitude and work ethic and got the job done safely and extremely efficiently. Timber Works Tree Care is the most professional and best tree contractor I have contracted with over my 40yrs of home ownership. The are responsive, friendly, organized and do excellent work! From the first phone call through the estimate, scheduling, execution and cleanup they were prompt, attentive and easy to work with. Our job for them was to fell four mature trees about 50ft tall, remove all debris, grind the four stumps and remove a nearby brush pile in our yard. I figured it was likely an all-day job. Well, they sent three people with a chipper, a brush hauler, and a stump grinder. Ryan, Sean, and Ben got the job done in 3.5hrs!! Plus, they wore helmets with face shields and built-in ear protection/radio w/ mics so that they could work safely and efficiently together. Did I mention the price was reasonable, too?! The whole thing was so smooth I almost wish I had more work for them! And we certainly will go to them fist for any future tree-related needs. Thank you, Timber Works!

Great service from the company. We had an arborist come out first to evaluate the property and then had Timber Works come out and evaluate and both had the same recommendations. Timber Works actually identified a cluster of trees that didn't outwardly look like it had any issues, but was very clearly rotted on the inside once it was taken down.The work crew showed up on time with all of the equipment and personnel necessary to take down the identified trees. Everyone was extremely conscientious of making sure that no property was damaged during their operations.Very communicative from the first step through scheduling and then the actual tree removal. Followed up immediately with emails to make sure we were happy with the service. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality tree company. They ended up taking down 8 trees and doing some cabling on some existing trees to keep as much as the forest preserves as possible, so it was not a small job.

This 2nd trip, we had them remove a very old, extremely tall tree overhanging our shed. It was a very dangerous and tricky job as the shed is adjacent to a very deep crevasse. We bought a new house with a lot of trees and were able to get Mac out before we moved in to assess the trees and give us recommendations for pruning and removal. We got an estimate the same day and were able to schedule the same week. We had six trees removed and the rest of the trees pruned and thinned. The guys were efficient and left the property clean. Had enough confidence in them to call them back. Our HOA (Frederick Woods) used TimberWorks to cut and remove 7 sizable trees. They also ground the stumps. In addition, we had them clear both sides of a drainage swale for several hundred feet. I can’t express enough the professionalism of the team at Timber Works Tree care. From the first day I met with Mac to go over the options, the professional advice, the emails with the office team and finally the team itself that arrived on time as stated to remove the three dead trees, four other trees; including ones for my neighbor. Timber Works removed several trees from our yard. They did an excellent job, were pleasant, professional, and hard working. They cleaned up all brush, stacked wood as requested, and did all work quickly and efficiently. I am having them do more work in the yard this Fall.

Jack Donohue was very attentive to all of our needs. He took the time to listen to all questions and thoroughly addressed them to our satisfaction.

These guys are AWESOME! They are quick & and very honest. They do an excellent job, way above & beyond their service. They rake, sweep, and pick up all extra branches from your yard. They are quick and can remove a tree w/in an hour. Very price competitive. Definitely will use again for our needs. Great group of friendly guys!
