Is your client concerned about the trees on a property they’re considering purchasing? We would be happy to come out for an inspection before they submit an offer.
Timber Works’ tree inspections for realtors entail a $100 fee. A certified arborist will visit the property and survey its trees’ conditions, checking for tree wounds, cavities, or decay. Alternatively, the arborist can focus their inspection on a given tree (or set of trees) to ascertain its condition—clients generally request this option when they suspect a problem. Depending on their findings, the arborist may need to conduct a spikeless climb for a closer look.
After the inspection, the arborist may recommend certain services for affected trees (such as tree trimming or removal). Realtors should speak to the arborist about the condition of inspected trees and options for care.
If further tree services are required but the realtor’s client wishes to purchase the property, Timber Works will credit the $100 fee toward the work. On the other hand, if a client has purchased the property before the inspection is completed, this fee is waived.
As intermediaries, realtors aim for successful property purchases between buyers and sellers. Doing so requires they remain vigilant about their prospective properties’ conditions, including the trees. Although desirable features in general, trees can appear healthy yet have underlying problems (including storm damage, infected wounds, or pest infestations). Such trees present safety hazards and a time-consuming headache for buyers.
However, a certified arborist can spot signs of problematic tree health long before the layperson. By employing Timber Works Tree Care’s tree inspections for realtors, you can ensure your client’s safety and peace of mind, allowing them to make an informed purchase.
Our inspections can detect many signs of tree health problems, including:
Any property with trees can benefit from tree inspections. Indeed, we recommend scheduling routine service appointments so prospective properties receive frequent inspections. Doing so allows tree care experts to spot infections, infestations, and deadwood early in their development, saving affected trees from removal. Thus, inspections can protect trees’ health and increase their lifespan.
A dead or dying tree trunk or branch may fall on people, houses, power lines, or other objects nearby. Yet a tree expert can spot wounded or dead tree segments and address them before disaster strikes. This protection can save prospective buyers money and prevent damage to belongings or structures.
While a tree may pose no risk during fair weather, it can become dangerous during storms. High winds and blizzard conditions, in particular, can pull on a healthy tree’s limbs and tip it over. Still, a careful arborist can spot potential problems and eliminate them through such services as tree trimming.
Tree trimming often helps damaged or infested trees. Arborists even recommend the annual pruning of trees to support their continued growth and health. Nevertheless, this service can only solve some tree problems; overgrown roots, species-specific diseases, and the like require other services.
That said, a tree inspection will diagnose problems and offer solutions. An arborist can determine what specific trees call for and how best to support a property. Rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, tree inspections personalize services and guidance.
Finally, in protecting trees’ condition, inspections preserve the outdoor serenity of a property. With a thorough understanding of the trees’ condition, clients can feel connected and secure in the land’s status, readying them to make a confident purchase.
